Mateusz Skutnik

Anyone who has checked out my favorite submission or favorite artists can plainly see my adoration for Mateusz Skutnik and his works. His point-and-click adventures have easily become the highlight of my entire flash animation history. His games involved complicated riddles, and very immersive stories, but do all their storytelling almost (but not entirely) without actual words. Submachine, now on it's "fifth" game, is excellent for that lack of storytelling. I quote the word "fifth" there because there are actually seven games in the series (only six of which can be found on Newgrounds). I strongly recommend to lovers of this series to visit www.pastelstories.com to find the link to Submachine Zero: The Ancient Adventure.
Additionally, and not merely in anticipation of Daymare Town 2 (due to hit the net sometime here in the first quarter of 2008), I have taken it upon myself, with the permission of Mateusz, to novelize Daymare Town. The projection I have for the story, thus far, is that it will be a first-person narritive (unsure on tense at this point) that will take the core of the game and flesh out what happens. I'm not quite sure how it will turn out, but I have a lot of hope. Sadly, I think it will take a while to complete the initial draft of the story. Given the amount of detail Mateusz puts into his work, I don't want to detract from that by missing any elements from the game when I go into wordsmithing. On the plus side, it means I get to play DMT a lot to ensure I have all of those details I need.
Long story short, Mateusz Skutnik and his flash submission rock, and stay tuned for information about a Daymare Town novel.
